Woods Hybrids Irons
I just bought a set of hybrid irons…how far, on average, can I expect to hit each club?
I can find charts online for woods and irons, but none for hybrid clubs. This is a full set of hybrid irons (not hybrid woods)…3 through SW
Hybrid irons aren’t really meant to give your greater distance but rather they’re meant to be more forgiving and minimize mishits. Your ball striking distance with hybrid irons should be comparable to your ball striking distance with traditional irons. How far you should be hitting them depends upon your skill level and your clubhead speed. There really isn’t an ‘average’ distance for any club. Pros can hit an 8 iron anywhere up to 170 yards or more but very few casual golfers are capable of that kind of distance. In my case, I hit my 5 iron about 150 yards. I generally add or subtract 10 yards from that distance for my other irons. (4 iron – 160, 6 iron 140 etc). You might be longer or you might be a little shorter. Just hit the range and see where you stand.
