Stroke Gas Golf

Stroke Gas Golf
EZ-Go Golf Cart circa 1985?

I recently acquired a working 1985 EZ-Go Golf Cart, 2-stroke gas powered. When we refilled it with gas and oil, as instructed, it began to run less-than-smoothly. It crossed our minds that the cart may run on leaded-gasoline. Should we put in a lead substitute, since it’s an older cart?
The gas tank says put one ounce of oil in with every 1/10th of a gallon of gas, and that’s how much we put in. I did notice two orange tubes coming off the engine, one looks to be a fuel line, the other, my dad says is some sort of breathing tube? The reason my mind sprung to lead-substitute is that we also have an early-eighties lawn-tractor, and it requires a lead substitute.

I agree with the first answer there is no need to be putting lead substitute in an 85 gas engine. What ratio did you use for your gasoline to oil. The problem certainly sounds like it is fuel related. You may need to adjust your fuel/oil mixing ratio. Having to much is better than not enough.
