Skin Golf Glove

I got this huge blister when I was golfing..?
on the hand you don’t wear a glove. It was a big blister on my thumb. Well i popped it that night – just enough to get all the liquid out. Now I just have a deflated blister basically. Is there anything I should do? Do I just leave it.. Should I cut the loose skin.. ??
Also, should I have popped it in the first place? – just for future reference
You want to keep the cover skin intact as long as you possibly can, until it naturally dries up and falls off by itself. Currently it’s protecting the rather raw new skin beneath it, if you remove it the area will burn quite badly. It’s okay to deflate a blister that is in a spot where it will likely be ruptured or ripped open. The best way to do that is to use a sterile needle (sterilized in a flame or alcohol), and poke a drain hole in the side near where blister meets normal skin. Then you just clean it with soap and water, and cover it with a band-aid. You can put on an antibiotic ointment if you want, but it’s not necessary as long as you have the cover skin. In fact, it will dry faster if you keep it covered and dry. For now, clean the skin and cover it up. Try to keep the loose skin in place as well. And before you play golf again, you might consider getting a glove for that hand. You can golf with two gloves, many do.
