Sand Lob Wedge
Which sand wedge should I trade in?
I am starting to put together a complete golf club set. The first club I purchased was a 56 degree Titleist Vokey sand wedge. After that I purchased a set of Callaway X-18R irons which came with a 56 degree sand wedge. I was planning on trading in one of the sand wedges for a lob or attack wedge at a used golf store, but I don’t know which one to get rid of.
If you like them both then keep ‘em. What you’ll get for trade-in will be a joke. Put whichever one feels best in your bag (or both, but don’t exceed the 14 club limit!)
If what you’re asking is which club should you build a set around, the answer can be neither. Many golfers carry a sand wedge that does not “match” the rest of their clubs.
But if you don’t have good sand technique which club you use won’t matter. “The Sand Shot requires more confidence that any other shot in golf, and can be the most intimidating. You must use a reasonably full swing to propel your golf ball a relatively short distance – all the while making sure to MISS the ball.
