2000: Marshall Faulk set a record of 26 TD. The defending champions were eliminated by the Saints in the Wild Card.
2001: Kurt Warner 4830 yards are the 2nd best in a season behind Marino. The Rams made the playoffs and were upset by the Pats.
2002: Rich Gannon. Set a record of most passes completed (broken this season by Brees). Oakland lost the Super Bowl vs. Tampa.
2003: Steve McNair and Peyton Manning. Eliminated back to back by Tom Brady and Co.
2004: Peyton Manning. Set a record of most TD passes (49). Against the Pats the explosive Colts offense was limited to 3 points.
2005: Shaun Alexander. Set a record of most TD scored (28) and led the league with 1880 yds, but lost the SB against Pittsburgh.
2006: LaDainian Tomlinson. Set a record of 31 TD. San Diego was upset by the Pats in a dramatic comeback victory.
2007: Tom Brady. Set a record of 50 TD passes. Everyone know what happened here.
Seems like it, huh?
Possibly even more disturbing – the NFL leader in passing yards has NEVER won the Super Bowl.
