1. Determine why you want a garden.
How to use? Who else could enjoy the garden? Remember you can not be the only inhabitant, then get input from all family members about how your outdoor space will be used.
2. To become a little dream.
Now you know why you want a garden and how you will use, let your imagination play with all the features available in your specific area. A small dream will discover the attributes that will put his personal stamp on the garden.
Also decide if you want a shape or informal garden. highly structured formal gardens, divided by a strong central axis and the axis of the Cross. informal gardens have a more natural look with strong curves.

What are the essentials? the list of needs in front ensures that your final plan is not missing something important. Need a retaining wall? A fence of privacy? A path to the garage? More space parking? Do children need a place to play? What about animals?
Walk around your property and take note of everything that is essential. Your final design must balance the characteristics of dreams and the "rich" should create a satisfying and functional.
4. Type what you already have.
To get to where you go, it helps to know your starting point. Is it big or small your space? The site is flat or sloping? What is the weather? What type of soil you have? How much water is available and what are the sources? What are the points of view will prevail?

Also, how long are you willing to keep its budget dream garden? Can you give me a couple of hours a week or are you lucky enough to buy a caregiver?
In developing and refining your plan, you may need to balance time and cost effective. Be flexible. You may have to spend more time if you do not spend more money and vice versa.
6. Identify your garden focal points.
Every garden needs put a catchy requires a moment of silence. When choosing a focal point is the choice of the direction that you want visitors to see when they enter your garden. Has the list of "wants" includes a waterfall or fountain? A shaft of retirement? An apple tree flowers? If so, you're well on your way to identify a focal point – or points – for your garden.
7. Create a rough layout.
Take all the information you have gathered and integrated into a design realistic to take into account the wishes "with the rich should." Its aim is to create a space that is both satisfying and functional.
Buy a block of graph paper consists of 8 or 10 squares per inch and every square foot of equality. (In other words, every inch on the paper is equal to 8 or 10 feet on his property.) Creating a base map with property lines and at home.
You will also need the tracing paper, markers, tape measure, ruler, pencil and a good eraser. Place the tracing paper on the level of the base map. See the list of "those who have to" and "wants" which summarizes the different areas of your garden. See the approximate location of focal points, areas of activity ("Parties") and tracks. Use as many sheets of tracing paper as needed until you find a layout that you like and meet the objective identified in step 1.
