Core Classic Daytona

I loved NASCAR – but no more

What in the name of Richard Petty, NASCAR will I? I fall in love again. I want the feeling of relief as a relationship former failed and is still trying to understand the classic question … WWW What went wrong? Returning to the good old days of 2001.

NASCAR is popular, but only a certain demographic, good Southern boys. Mr. Dale Earnhardt died in the first race of 2001, the Daytona 500. Ironically, his death has touched a chord with fans and no fans, suddenly reached a new peak NASCAR and sports. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has become the icon appears, after that tragic day, not by choice but by birthright. This unfortunate moment in time and put in a tragic moment in the territory of NASCAR primetime ratings.

With this new success to find the money came from businesses and lots of it. race teams soon became super-teams, leaving behind the less fortunate. Owners who was a star running back could add to his stable of studs. Jeff Gordon has led Jimmie Johnson, Rusty Wallace has led to Kurt Busch, Mark Martin, Matt Kenseth has led to Greg Biffle and Carl Edwards, etc, etc. Suddenly, the young driver became the star, leaving Dale Jarrett, Ricky Rudd, Sterling Marlin, Terry Labonte, Bobby Labonte and Kenny Schrader back … and insignificant. The same men who carried the momentum left Cale Yarborough Donnie Allison and infamous fight in the 1979 Daytona 500 in the fist CBS (The first NASCAR race on national television in full). In this article I gave a breakdown of which led us to the NASCAR we know and love at this time. In Part 2, I will talk and discuss NASCAR reasons to lower attendance and television ratings in the future, unless things change significantly.

Once, just once I'd like to see Kyle Petty won a career in NASCAR … or finishing in the top 5 or top 10. Heck, 15 would place some thing to see. Petty, Bobby Labonte, Elliott Sadler, Michael Waltrip or anyone outside the top 20 rankings have no chance of being lucky … or compatible. Today, NASCAR, his charisma, charm and seems to dictate how they will perform throughout the season.

I have a theory: if you have two of three features, have a better chance of getting a ride in one of the top teams. Top 20 pilots, almost guaranteed. The other drivers in the point or limit these features get a record deal in the remaining teams or the Nationwide Series … others talent … well, you can tune in the Craftsman Truck Series. A rich Sprint Cup team and sponsors (several billion dollar companies) want the best drivers who can represent your brand. It is no coincidence that look like Sprint tasters Hollywood "A list celebrities and truck drivers Series Watch as … well, every day, ordinary citizens.

The squeaky clean Sprint Cup Series is in danger of alienating a fan base by offering a product that used to be competitive and exciting predictable and boring. The Truck Series, which has not been affected much by a lot of money, has become the most competitive series and exciting. That race Sprint Cup Years ago excitation peak 10-15 years ago. Each of these drivers have a legitimate chance to win this more than anything is why we attend or tune in a race or sporting event in the first place … the result is not a guarantee or a padlock. Sprint Cup is in danger of becoming too predictable … the first 12 drivers have a 80% chance of winning a race. To paint a better picture if you were in the Paris Games of the NFL and ensures these qualifications, you would be able to buy his own NASCAR team in a few years.

Formula 1, considered the highest level in racing, has been for decades the highest level of materialism and excess. The product is secondary. racing fans in North America have always focused on product quality … NASCAR product is in danger of losing their core fans, since the product has become secondary. Here's to change or NASCAR fans and patience interest shown by the slow and hesitant participation scores.

(1) issues of race should be more competitive: Daytona, Talladega and Bristol give racing fans the most competitive and exciting for your money. These six runs 36 race season will see racing bumper bumper near the potential a warning at any time. These three issues are a common bank … runs deep in the corners to create a high-speed action and close … and yes accidents. Calling the race is dangerous. There is no risk until someone gets hurt, but the feeling that one false move or a collision could create an advantage for one driver and end of the day to day. It is dramatic and that's what the fans want. Most tracks do not offer much excitement. More offers a line Values race car that slowly scraping the car one by one, a journey through three wide … safely only races generally dominated by the elite teams 12-15.

(2) revenue sharing CREATE PARITY: Let's spread the wealth a bit to secure the future of this sport. Television revenue should be paid to them, weaker and down to the stronger teams. With more money, little can get the technology to gain an advantage in the race. Hendrick, Roush and others SuperTeams need some competition or fans tired of the same drivers win.

(3) = ATTENTION racing cars without taking LEADS = BIG RACE boring: elite teams are now much higher than these cars are establishing large leads early in the race and leaving lower-level teams to turn in some cases, 25 laps in the race. This, along with the pilot "Playing it safe" for the first three quarters of the race was broadcast viewers impatient and scope of the remote control. I've been to New Hampshire three races and faith that about forty percent of the fans are out of their seats and looking for souvenirs or food (or beer), after 20 laps. Of course most are back to see the final 20 laps, but I can not say the same for the viewer … the race is likely forgotten at this point.

(4) too many in the television broadcast: not running a large business? Just watch the cars, uniforms for drivers and pit crew … devil, the displacement at the top of the screen has a sponsor to change the screen every 10 minutes. Too many ads = lack of interest. A better way, if all the advertisements are necessary for ESPN, ABC, FOX, etc in the balance, why not have a split screen with the spread of the race's next? In all cases, the networks must provide a return stroke for the fans and did not look like a money machine greedy.

(5) More emphasis on low emissions during DRIVERS: Each driver in the race is important. Although the chances of winning are few for some, each driver WANT to win and improve every week. A driver who has a station in his (or her) belt is one year of experience and growth, mentally and technically for the driver and the team. We racing fans have to do a little of each driver and their strategies (and pit stops) during a race. Add Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr. most of the sample did not allow the fan to fully appreciate the drama that is racing. I wonder how fast Kyle Petty is the number of laps Bobby Labonte is down, if Mark Martin's car is running or problems.

I think networks to see many of these drivers landscape as backdrop, to use a movie analogy. By allowing these drivers to dust and focus only on drivers high Q rating, the networks have reinforced the fact that the Sprint Cup circuit in NASCAR is dominated and run by the elite.

Hopefully the NASCAR people are not turn this incredible sport in Formula 1 and alienate a sector of fans … I want to love again … I do not like NASCAR!
