What is the formula for reducing voltage from 24 to 12?
I want to install a 12 volt light on my golf cart. The cart has two 12V / 12Ah batteries. The voltage on the battery cable (out) reads 24volts with my meter. Someone told me to get a 1.5 K resister (1500 ohms) and that will do it. I’ve blown out 3 lights already. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is no “formula” and a 1.5 k resistor won’t do anything. The other answers have some good info.
Best is to just get a 24 volt light.
